Incidentally, in finding this out I googled international days. Aside from the obvious ones, we’ve just missed International Wombat Day (October 22nd), World Elephant Day is August 12th, and – who knew – International Otter Day which is on the last Wednesday of every May.

Enough…there are serious things to be discussed. With all that is happening in the world, there must be some positive things to talk about…. 

Firstly it isn’t Christmas yet….

We normally have the radio on the office. This morning I couldn’t quite believe my ears to hear Band Aid’s orginal single being broadcast. One of the more dour members of our team remarked – ‘Do they know it’s Christmas ? Hope not, it’s only October….’

Seriously, at the time of writing there are only 62 days, 3 hours, 9 minutes and 59 seconds until Christmas – you can keep an eye on that at https://www.xmasclock.com (and whoever coded that site had seriously too much time on their hands…..)

But it is almost Budget day. And mightily glad we’ll be too. I was talking to an estate agent client yesterday. Nothing is selling due to fears about the budget. A car dealer the day before, the same. A land agent the day before that, ditto. An online clothes retailer last week, yep - guessed it.

It is apparent that the UK is suffering from a nationwide bout of constipation.

So, on the positive side, it’s only a week now until Rachel Reeves delivers a massive dose of laxative to us all.

I’m not quite sure of the method of delivery but guess the outcome will be that which we've always known politicians talk.....

And with the Budget comes the other equal positive - our Budget update next Thursday at 8 am. Little did I realise what our poetic invite was going to unleash...

And all this is happening near Hallowe'en...If you get easily frightened at this time of year, remember that the last census revealed that there are no vampires in existence. Unless you count Dracula.
